Summary of Key Results – CCVS-Uganda Annual Report 2023
Psychological Rehabilitation
CCVS-Uganda provided psychological counseling to 630 beneficiaries (349 female, 281 male) in Oyam and Kitgum districts, addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Therapy sessions included individual, group, couple, and family counseling. Follow-up evaluations showed significant improvements, with severe PTSD cases decreasing from 72% to 2.2% after six months of therapy.
Community Awareness and Outreach
Over 4,000 people were sensitized through psycho-education sessions, community dialogues, and a dedicated radio program on mental health. The “Mado Cwiny” radio show engaged 242 listeners, raising awareness on topics like family mental health, gender-based violence, and trauma recovery. Mass sensitization activities reached communities in Kitgum and Pader districts, with over 450 participants receiving mental health education and counseling referrals.
Partnerships and Capacity Building
CCVS-Uganda trained 110 community stakeholders in Psychological First Aid and lay counseling techniques to enhance local mental health support. Strong partnerships were maintained with district governments and NGOs to improve service delivery and referral pathways. A client satisfaction survey revealed that 99% of respondents were highly satisfied with the psychological services provided.
