Key Achievements

  • 236 direct beneficiaries (168 female, 68 male) received psychological support.
  • 1,416 indirect beneficiaries supported through community programs.
  • 92.6% of beneficiaries showed improvement after six months of counseling.
  • 100 community stakeholders trained in Psychological First Aid (PFA).
  • 507 individuals benefited from community sensitization activities.
  • 146 people contributed to mental health discussions via radio programs.

Challenges

  • COVID-19 lockdowns significantly impacted field operations.
  • Limited capacity for couple and family therapy, with plans for staff training in 2021.
  • Political interference and natural calamities disrupted activities.

Impact

  • Increased mental health awareness in communities.
  • Strengthened local capacity to provide psychosocial support.
  • Improved peacebuilding, reconciliation, and social inclusion efforts.

Despite challenges, CCVS-Uganda made significant strides in improving mental health and community resilience in post-war Northern Uganda.
